WHAT I WORE: I went to the Sparkle Ball in Manchester and loved it

I've been to so many events lately!

Which makes me sound like I do nothing but go out. Sadly between working a grand total of four jobs at the moment, I don't have a lot of time for blog writing. I'm determined though to pick it up a bit.

So where have I been?

I recently attended Sparkle Festival in Manchester with my friend Nick. I was delighted to go although had no idea what the night would entail. While I am happy with my choice of outfit, I wish I had worn a white shirt that didn't crease as soon as I touched it! Nick had actually ironed this for me as well since I am THAT BAD at ironing. I give up.

I don't do formal wear. I never really have done. I'm so clumsy that I didn't dare risk falling over a long dress. So I made do by ripping my friend's dress by standing on it in my platforms towards the end of the night. I could have cried. I'm still cringing about it.  If I can feck it up then I will.

The night (in fact the entire festival) was a complete success and incredibly good fun.  Held at the Mercure Hotel in Manchester, we had a champagne reception, lots of wine, balloons, goodie bags, cheesy disco and wonderful band. All to raise awareness and support those going through transitioning or those who are gender fluid.

I was amazed at how friendly, supportive, opened minded, loving and, well, energetic everyone was. We ended up out in the village after and I swear I don't think I have danced that much in years! We made a pact to go back next year for sure.

I had to make a decision what to wear which was awkward. I had been in London every single week for about six weeks, broke and also exhausted which left me with very little time to organise anything. So I raid my closet and my friend's closet for bits.

Here we go:

Feathers - OLD steal from Topshop Dublin which I sold and regret so hard
White Shirt - Topshop Dublin - years old. Creases like a bitch.
Tie - Borrowed
Jeans - River Island
Platforms - Jeffery Campbell
I loved my make up that night.

Sequins - this came as a band of stick on jewels from Primark for £3. Word of advice? Don't dare wear this without eyelash glue. I had to stick it down with duo adhesive under the diamond bits. Even then I carried the glue in my purse for complete fear.
Green lipstick - MAC
Green shapes under the eye - Inglot glued down with MAC mixing medium
Foundation - Studio Fix MAC NC15
Black eyeshadow - Sugarpill black. I would 100% recommend this as the best black I have ever used in my life.
Green glitter - MAC PRO

Nick looked amazing. The dress (which I tore and will never stop cringing about) was custom made, cross over neckline, fishtail style and full length to the floor. Stunning. The dress was made by Lara at Likhomanova Couture on Etsy which you can find here

I did Nick's eye make up which I loved. I used:

EYES:
Purple shimmer: Inglot metallic loose pigment
Pink: MAC and Urban Decay electric palette
Purple: Electric Palette

I cannot find one photo where we are not smiling, laughing, taking the piss and not having the best time.
